Select Office Suites, Leading New York City Workspace Provider, Announces Fundraiser Honoring 17 Year Old Gold Medal Winner, Paralympic Skier, Staci Mannella

October 2, 2014

Staci Mannella
has astounding vision although she is partially sighted. The 17-year-old member of the U.S. Paralympics Alpine Skiing National Team is unable to see the beauty of the mountain, the terrain of the run or the gates through which she must turn. Yet Staci sees herself representing the United States in the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games, to be held March 7-16, 2014, in Sochi, Russia. And she sees herself crossing the finish line.

Staci was born with achromatopsia, a congenital condition that seriously limits her visual acuity to three feet and causes extreme sensitivity to light. She sees virtually nothing when on the mountain and skis in radio contact with a guide.

Select Office Suites will be hosting the fundraiser at their brand new office suites at 1115 Broadway, 10th floor. What a better way to toast a grand opening than to honor Staci’s incredible accomplishment in bringing home the gold medal for the United States. Select Office Suites is proud to host the event in their newest lounge area overlooking Madison Square Park. This is sure to be a memorable evening!

All proceeds from the event will go to assist Staci Mannella pursue her dream of competing in and representing the U.S. at the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games in Russia.
